Notes from a Christian mother, part VIII

Having spent some time exploring the practicalities of administering a spanking, our Christian mother now turns her attention to those times when a sore bottom is NOT appropriateā€¦

In his excellent books, such as Dare to Discipline, Dr James Dobson makes the distinction between childish behaviour, where training is required, and outright rebellion, where the appropriate response is a spanking. By outright rebellion, he is referring to those occasions when, after due warning, the child is determined to do what he wants; and it is at that point that the parent needs to assert his authority.
