Esther ‘Eppie’ Lederer (1918-2002) better known by the pen name Ann Landers, was an American advice columnist whose syndicated column appeared in newspapers throughout America – and often beyond, as this 1947 column shows. I found it in an archive of The Belfast Telegraph of August 21.
There is one subject on which many parents and I always agree – there is far too much rudeness among the children of today. Cocky little youngsters who know all and won’t be told to do anything are unpleasant people to meet: and the very sad result is that these kiddies grow into adults who are disliked by everyone with whom they come in contact.
