This is how I remember the spankings I got while growing up in Brisbane, Australia, in the 1950s. I turned 10 in 1956.
Brisbane is a subtropical coastal city. When I was growing up, boys usually wore shorts, even in winter. At school, we wore shoes and uniform shirt and shorts. When I got home from school, I would take off my shoes and change my shirt and shorts. I usually wore boxer shorts, which had elastic around the waist.
