When I was in the 2nd grade at a co-ed Catholic School grades 1-8, I received a spanking from the head nun, the Mother Superior. The steps that led to this event was that I had thrown a small tantrum due to not being able to sit in the big chair in the classroom for story time. My reaction to this ‘unfairness’ was to throw my reading book at the other child that had ‘beaten’ me to the prized chair.
Needless to say, this child’s actions and my reaction would lead me to being ‘beat’ again, this time at the hands of Mother Superior, who was also the principal. I was told to report to her office. My response was a defiant ‘no’ and this resulted in an escort, by no other means than the dreaded ear-pull.
