I’m an old decrepit guy now but I grew up in the Southern US during the early 1960s when raising children was quite a different matter to the way it is today.
Spankings were common and an accepted and expected part of childhood. If you misbehaved, you better be prepared to have your behind warmed by your parents or your teacher.
