I was interested to read the accounts by your contributor Matt about his time in the house church movement in the UK. I was also heavily involved in this during my late teens and mid-20s before leaving through disillusionment in the mid 1980s.
Unlike Matt, I can’t really recall many individual memories of seeing in action the sort of firm parental discipline he describes, but I certainly saw my fair share of bottoms being smacked by frustrated mums and dads.
