Care home life

I received an email recently from a gentleman we’ll call Mark. Mark wrote: “After my father Stanley died in 2008, I found among his effects the following document which may be of interest to you…

“My father was a career teacher but during the mid 60s, he was deputy head at a children’s care home in the north of England. I believe that what I have attached is part of a book he had planned to write about those care home days. I know that he felt that many of these establishments were unfairly criticised in the light of the sins of a few, so perhaps these memoirs were intended as a rebuttal to some of that criticism.
