Having spoken about dealing with very little children, our Christian mother now turns her attention to discussing spankings given between the ages of two and seven.
Once a child has reached a fully self-conscious stage, somewhere between two and three, I feel it is tremendously important to protect his self-respect by removing him from the presence of others (and particularly from other siblings) before administering punishment. Of course this may not always be possible, but as the child gets older it seems much fairer to remove him from the hearing of others even to rebuke him, let alone to inflict a spanking on him.
